Who is that Boo guy?

The question has been asked countless times over the past two seasons of Pilot Rocky Top League games at Bearden High School.

James "Boo'' Jackson smiled when asked to tell the story of how he ended up playing summer league basketball in Knoxville.

"My dad got relocated in Alcoa through his job, and I bought my parents a house out there,'' said Jackson, a Pittsburgh native who played his college basketball at Eastern Michigan.

"I kept coming back to visit, and I finally just bought myself a house in Louisville.''

Jackson nearly ended up playing in Knoxville right out of high school - for Alabama, that is.

"I had an offer, but I just thought the South was so far away, and I really didn't want to leave home,'' Jackson said.
