 Johannesburg - The past few weeks have reportedly been gritty for Muvhango actress, Bontle Sithole, who plays Busi Motsamai on the popular SABC 2 soapie.

Bontle has been targeted and insulted by fans after episodes of her character's sexual encounters with an elderly professor was aired.

In the soapie the sex tapes went viral after being leaked on the internet by hackers.

Bontle, who is a first-year business management student at the University of Johannesburg, revealed that she has been called all sorts of names on campus and social media for her on-screen role.

"I was on the verge of de-registering," she told Sunday World.

She added that its been hard for her to deal with all the negative comments especially on social media, which are posted and re-tweeted.
